1. Visit All of Stafford’s LOVE Signs

Did you know we have SIX Virginia LOVE signs right here in Stafford?? Some officially named by Virginia VTC and others are unofficially spreading the love! Check out our Instagram post to see where each one is located.

2. Enjoy Nature at Widewater State Park

Widewater State Park is one of Stafford’s greatest treasures, and not only do they regularly host classes and workshops to educate visitors and locals on our beautiful region, but their nature is breathtaking – there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy it. Spend a serene afternoon journaling by the river, take a hike in the park, learn about the park’s history in their visitors center, kayak, boat, fish – the world is truly your oyster!

3. Breakfast at a Local Coffeehouse

Nothing warms the soul (and the stomach) like a hot cuppa and breakfast from a local coffehouse! Explore options like Grounds Coffeehouse, Peet’s Coffee, Coffee Bar 1010, Grounds Bistro, Black Rifle Coffee Co, and more!

4. Visit Patawomeck Museum & Cultural Center

Take a step back in time while keeping one foot in the present by visiting Stafford’s Native Tribe, the Patawomecks! This museum is full of rich history and incredible artifacts, and sits on a picturesque estate overlooking the Rappahannock River.

5. Take a Sunset Cruise with Sunset Cruises of Stafford

If you haven’t yet explored Stafford’s serene water scene, this is the place to start. Grab your favorite friends, family, or special someone and spend the evening relaxing on the water of Aquia Creek.

6. Tour George Washington’s Ferry Farm

Stafford, Virginia is quite literally Washington’s backyard. Not only literally (Washington, D.C.), but also historically. Take a visit and a tour of the land and home George Washington grew up in before heading off to become our nation’s first President – bonus points if you visit during an archeological dig!

7. Beach Day at Aquia Landing Park

Aquia Landing Park might be one of Stafford’s most unknown destination spots. But, for locals who know where to go, this park is where they’ll spend most of the summer! So grab your swimsuits & sunscreen and spend a the day at Stafford’s beach!

8. Attend a Show at Riverside

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is where Stafford’s talent shines! Bringing over 6 productions to their famous stage every year, they are “Broadway’s best in Virginia!”
