Get ready to celebrate the 4th of July in Stafford with a day full of festivities, patriotism, and fun! This year, we’re continuing our free trolley to make your experience as hassle free as possible. Here’s everything you need to know before heading out:

Trolley Stops

We’re so excited to offer the Trolley Tours of Fredericksburg’s services again this year to make traveling between celebration locations easy and stress-free. Enjoy event celebrations at each of these locations:

  1. George Washington’s Ferry Farm
  2. New Downtown Fredericksburg Visitors Center
  3. The Patawomeck Museum and Cultural Center
  4. The Eagle Parking Lot – for convenience and lighter traffic (NO 4th of July event happening at this location)

The trolley will run throughout the day’s event from 10am – 4pm, with the last call at each location at 4pm.

        Parking Information

While parking will be available at all trolley stop locations, we highly encourage attendees to park at the Eagle Parking lot and downtown Fredericksburg, then take the trolley to and from each event site as minimal parking will be available at George Washington’s Ferry Farm and the Patawomeck Museum and Cultural Center. This will help ease the flow of traffic and ensure a smoother experience for everyone. Parking is not guaranteed at any location.

Please note, handicap parking will ONLY be available at George Washington’s Ferry Farm. Plan accordingly to accommodate your needs.

For complete addresses, a map, and website access (and to make your day easier and hassle-free), visit our event-specific Linktree. Bookmark this link on your phone for quick, easy access. Signs with QR codes will also be displayed at each trolley stop and location, equipping you with all the information you’ll need.

        Weather and Safety Tips

This 4th, weather is predicted to be partly cloudy and heat in the 80s, so please bring plenty of water and sunscreen to protect yourself from any unexpected, intense heat. Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade whenever possible.

        Continue the Fun!

This 4th of July kicks off the year-long celebration towards America’s 250th birthday! In other words, it’s her semi-quincentennial (try saying that 5 times fast). On Memorial Day of this year, we kicked off Stafford County’s VA250 events, which will continue monthly until July 4th, 2026. Check out the official VA250 website for a full list of events (updated regularly) and be sure to join in on the fun with Run America 250 – where you can run, walk, or bike 250 miles before America’s 250th and earn a commemorative racing medal!
