• Home to George Washington’s Boyhood Home at Ferry Farm – where the ‘chopping tree’ tale originated. Visit the home where George Washington grew up and lived from age 6 to 22. His family moved to a farm in Stafford called the “Home Farm” but later became known as Ferry Farm because people crossed the Rappahannock River on a ferry from the farm to the town of Fredericksburg.
