Celebrate the holiday season in Stafford at the Stafford County Tree Lighting
Who doesn’t love a tree lit with beautiful, festive lights? Well, we could not be more excited about the return of the second annual Tree Lighting. The event was so successful last year that we had to do it again. So kick off the holiday season with your community and experience the magic of this time of year in the heart of Stafford county, and we have made it even better this go around.
There will be many different experiences to help get you into the spirit of the holidays. A horse-drawn carriage ride will be offered for free, allowing your family to snuggle and enjoy a beautiful night under the stars.
While you bounce around visiting artisans and crafters selling candles, jewelry and more, enjoy listening to holiday musical performances from the Colonial Forge High School, Brooke Point High School, and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church choirs throughout the evening. Make sure to visit the Graham Cracker House contest area and see the best edible houses in the community. Think you’ve got what it takes to win first place? Register to build and display your own graham cracker house today.
Be sure to come hungry and ready to grab and go from local food trucks, including Z’s Southern Kitchen, Family Food Palace, Pop Pop’s Kettle Corn, Southern Taste, LLC, Fire Escape Crazy Burgers, Cream To Go, and 2 Southern Belles. Your bellies will be full as you explore crafts and activities with your little ones.
Come ready to take pictures with Santa and check the “Christmas card” off your list of holiday to-dos. Festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. on December 2, 2022, and the tree lighting ceremony will occur at 7:30 p.m. If it is raining, the event will be held on December 3, 2022.
