Take a look into the state rooms that housed hospital beds after the battle’s end and where American Red Cross founder Clara Barton, poet and writer Walt Whitman, and Mary Walker, the only female in American history to receive the Medal of Honor, bandaged the wounds and cared for the sick following the battle of Fredericksburg.
Visit the Home and Studio of American painter Gari Melchers where he lived with his wife, Corrine, from 1916 until his death in 1932.
