John P. Holden

Director of Economic Development and Tourism

John joined the Stafford team in May 2018 after spending 25 years in Maine. There, his experience encompassed community and economic development; tourism development and marketing; and international business development and attraction. He helped institute and managed a number of economic development organizations. He also led the expansion of Maine’s entrepreneurship environment into communities he worked.

John was born in Columbus, Oh. He earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in regional economics from the University of Maine. He enjoys cooking and golf.

Lisa Logan, CGMP

Assistant Director of Economic Development and Tourism

Lisa joined the department in 2016 after working for Stafford County Sheriff’s office in community outreach for four years. She brings over 15 years of event planning experience to Stafford County, having worked for various other agencies in fundraising and event planning. Lisa helps create and support multiple signature events in Stafford County while continuing to market all the county’s tourism assets and support regional and state tourism.

Born and reared in Southwest Virginia, Lisa holds a bachelors degree in business management. She enjoys spending time with her friends, dining out, and watching movies.

Courtney Swenson

Marketing Manager

Courtney has worked in the department since 2016. She leads the marketing efforts for the department, working both with the Economic Development team and Tourism team. She helps to strategize and showcase Stafford as a destination to work, live, grow your business, and experience the area.

Born in Berlin, Germany, Courtney moved to the region from Northern Virginia to attend the University of Mary Washington (UMW). She holds a bachelors degree in psychology from UMW. She is currently attending Georgetown University and pursuing a masters in Integrated Marketing and Communications. Courtney enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and dog.

Brittany Loving

Tourism Marketing Specialist 

It feels good to leave home, but it feels even better to come back. Born in Stafford, Brittany returned to the place where it all began. As a local in the know, Brittany celebrates Stafford’s hidden gems and hot spots on a variety of marketing platforms. In her capacity as Tourism Marketing Specialist, Brittany plans social media outreach, tourism servicing, and sales.

Before making her mark on Stafford County Tourism, Brittany provided marketing and administrative support for Stafford County Public Schools. Previously, Brittany was a communication consultant at the James Madison University (JMU) Communication Center. In this role, she provided students, faculty, and staff with proven tactics for oral presentations.

Brittany received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from JMU, along with a concentration in public relations and a minor in non-profit studies. Her range of talents (and insider tourism hacks) bring perspective to every project.
