Museum Curator at Chatham Manor
October 17 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pmFree
Who knew that a battlefield could have a Museum Curator and that our very own Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Military Park has one! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 17, at 1:00 PM to hear Luisa Dispenzirie, Museum Curator at FSNMP, talk about her daily activities and some of the interesting artifacts and relics she has discovered at Chatham.
This presentation is part of the “Sharing Chatham Stories” program that Friends of Chatham is offering its members and friends. It is our intent for these programs to highlight some of the lesser known stories related to Chatham as well as to introduce our members to some of the National Park Service personnel with whom we have rarely interacted with this year due to COVID 19 restrictions. In addition to the 30-minute program, FoC president, Nancy Fahy, will update members on upcoming plans and activities. Earlier, on September 18, at noon, Ranger Hilary Grabowska impressed our members with her presentation on the early 20th Century women at Chatham, Helen Devore, Ellen Biddle Shipman, and Francis Benjamin Johnston. This was our first Zoom Member Mingle.
Friends of Chatham plans to offer the program on the grounds at Chatham, however, in case of inclement weather, or in case the current water line project may cause us to change to a Zoom delivery for the meeting. If we can meet at Chatham, attendees should bring their own lawn chairs, water bottles, snacks, bug spray, and face masks. All are expected to practice safe social distancing as well. An “email blast alert” and an invitation to join the Zoom meeting will be sent out if the meeting has to change to a Zoom format.
Please RSVP to email@example.com so that we can be prepared with the correct number of handouts and have your email addresses in case we need to notify you that plans must be changed. We hope to see a lot of our Friends on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 PM for another informative program.
