History and Culture Day-Art in the Park

Celebrate Virginia State Parks’ vast history and culture as Widewater State Park recognizes a native of the peninsula – Harlem Renaissance artist, Palmer Hayden. Discover nature through the eye of your hand. Join the ranger for an art workshop where you will create your own sketchbook with recycled supplies and learn the basics of nature journaling. Pre-registration is required to ensure supplies.
This two-hour event is also a great opportunity for scouts who are working on completing their Art merit badge.
