Clean the Bay Day: Widewater State Park

Join more than 6,000 volunteers statewide and make a significant impact on the health of the Chesapeake Bay. Think what happens in your backyard doesn’t affect the bay, think again. You’d be surprised at the amount of non-point source pollution that harms the bay each year.

This year, join rangers along the Potomac River or Aquia Creek to participate in a shoreline clean-up effort. After cleaning up the shoreline, meet back up with the rangers to discuss what items were picked up and find the most interesting piece of trash collected!

Close-toed shoes, pants, work gloves, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended. The park will provide trash bags and nitrile gloves.
