$175
Session A: June 13 – 17; 9am – 12pm
Session B: July 25 – 29; 9am -12pm
Using the lives of George and Betty Washington as guides, campers explore colonial society before and during the American Revolution. Through hands-on activities like a mock archaeological dig, surveying hike, dancing lessons, militia drill and more, campers learn how George, Betty, and other colonists saw themselves as British and examine the events that ultimately led them to adopt a new American identity. Campers will learn about the sacrifices of being a patriot and the challenges of being a loyalist. Then determine which side they might have stood for if they lived in colonial Virginia. This camp alternates location each day between George Washington’s Ferry Farm & Historic Kenmore.
Advance ticket purchase required, as program space is limited. Sign-up deadline is 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 31st.
