The wild turkey is the largest game bird in Virginia and was one vote away from becoming the national bird of the United States. Known for its quick speed, excellent eyesight, and ability to fly straight up, the turkey was nearly hunted to extinction.
Join rangers near the visitor center to play a game to learn about the importance of habitats for wild turkeys and how they protect their eggs from predators.
