REV3 Stafford Sprint Triathlon

August 17 @ 11:58 am

Stafford, Virginia is 10 miles north of Fredericksburg, 40 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 60 miles north of Richmond.  Stafford was home to George Washington starting when he was 6 years old. He lived on his family’s farm but you might recognize Stafford more as the location where George Washington chopped down the infamous cherry tree.

The race will take place at The Rouse Center, a state of the art 76,000 square foot facility that houses a 50-meter competition pool and seating for over 800 spectators. The Sprint race will consist of a 400 meter swim, 10 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run. For more course details, information, and tickets, click here.

The REV3 Stafford Triathlon will include a kids triathlon.  6-10 year olds will swim 100 meters, bike 2.5 miles (2 laps) on a closed to vehicular traffic bike course, and run .75 miles on a paved pedestrian path adjacent to the bike course making the entire course spectator friendly.  11+ year olds will swim 200 meters, bike 4.5 miles (4 laps), and run 1.5 miles on an out/back.

The swim takes place in The Rouse Center.  You will be swimming a total of 400 meters in (8) 50-meter lanes.  The bike will be 2 laps with a few rolling hills and a total of approximately 600′ of total elevation.  The 5k run course will be an out/back course on a paved pedestrian path.
