Kids Fishing Day: Widewater State Park
Ever wondered what it would be like to pull in a huge bass or want to learn how to cast? Join the rangers and learn how to tie a knot, bait a hook, and cast a line. Then test out your new skills on Aquia Creek or Long Pond. Rods, reels, and bait are all provided by the Friends of Widewater and the Department of Wildlife Resources, but participants may bring their own equipment. All ages are welcome.
- A valid Virginia fishing license is required for those age 16 and older who would like to fish.
- Licenses can be purchased at the Widewater State Park Visitor Center or online here. For more information call 540-288-1400.
