  • Celebrate Stafford’s 350 Anniversary!

    May 3, 2014 From George Washington to the present day, Government Island to the new Tech and Research Center, the Trail to Freedom to the Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail, Stafford County has much to celebrate. In 2014, the County will commemorate its 350th Anniversary and salute our past, present and future!

  • For the Love of Life Sprint Triathlon

    For the Love of Life Sprint Triathlon includes a 300 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride, 5k race, and a golf tournament!

    The Purpose of this event is to raise awareness of and donate to The Wounded Warrior Project, the MS Society and SERVE (Stafford Emergency Relief through Volunteer Efforts.) We are doing this through Hosting a Sprint Triathlon, Golf Tournament and Health and Wellness/ Sponsorship Fair. Through these Sporting Events and Fair, all proceeds raised will go to those three charities. All proceeds from any sales from t-shirts, cups hats and any other related item with our logo on it will also go to our charities.

  • Great American Family Campout

    Familes can choose among activities such as canoeing/kayaking on Curtis Lake, archery, swimming, cycling, nature programs, and nature crafts.  After a hotdog dinner, there will be a night hike.  The evening concludes with a group campfire (guitars welcome) and making s'mores.  Sunday includes a continental breakfast prior to packing up camp.  Campers need to bring their own camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc.).  Saturday evening dinner, Sunday morning continental breakfast, and all activities included.  Ages 3+(all children must be accompanied by an adult);deadline 5/31 or until full

  • Stafford County Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival

    Sep 12-Sep 14, 2014 Growing with Stafford for the last 15 years, join us for the 350th Anniversary of Stafford this year!

    This FREE event is held in the Historic Hartwood District of Stafford County VA (Greater Fredericksburg Area) along the Civil War Trail. The Stafford County Hartwood Days Festival & Agricultural Fair will offer Families and Youth of ALL ages many opportunities to have fun and learn something new (or maybe something old).

    Thrill yourself Riding some Rides, Take a “Walk through Time” in the interactive Living History Area, visit the new Agricultural Area and check out the Stafford County Agricultural Competitions, check out the First Responders Area, Grab a bite to eat, play one of the games, listen to a FREE Concert, and check out all of the different booths, demonstrations, exhibits, and vendors, from Arts & Crafts to 'great to have' things.  LOTS of activities for Youth, including the Trailblazer® Adventure program!! Make sure that if you have Girl, Boy, or Cub Scouts in your area, you bring them out to the Badge Day event, held on the grounds! Dont forget the Neighbors Kids too!!!

       Additional fee for rides @ $20.00, or buy tickets in advance online.

  • Trailblazer Adventure Day

    Sep 13, 2014 Archery & Airgun ranges are some of our most popular activities!

    FREE EVENT!  The Trailblazer Adventure Program was designed to expose Youth and Families to outdoor activities during the Stafford County (Greater Fredericksburg area) Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival. This event offers them the chance to engage in the activities and get a hands on idea of what its like.  This one-day program serves as an all-around introduction to the thrill of outdoor sports and the importance of conservation. It features a variety of activities, demonstrations and orientation sessions designed to show children and their parents what the outdoor lifestyle is all about, and the different Vocations & Avocations that they may be interested in. Activities could include firearm safety, archery, trapping, fishing and much more. All activities are conducted under the supervision of experienced Trail Guides with an emphasis on safety.

    Think History is boring?  Not here!  Have you ever wanted to be a time traveller? Well here's your chance.  Step back into the past as you stroll through the camps manned by Living Historians, reproducing several different era's of history.  Talk to someone in the French Foreign Legion, or ask a Civil War soldier what he's having for lunch, or join the US Navy during World War II, and have you heard of the Coal Wars?

    This great Family Friendly event is both FUN & Educational. . . or FUNducational!  And the best part is that its FREE!  You wont want to miss it!
